RAMADAN MUBARAK!
As Salaamu Alaykum
The Messenger of Allah Said: “ Whoso fasts Ramadan out of faith and hopeful of reward, all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoso stands up (in prayer) in Ramadan out of faith and hopeful of rewards, all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoso stands up (in prayer) at the Blessed Night out of faith and hopeful of rewards, all his past sins will be forgiven.” (Agreed)
Masjid Nur invites all Muslims to join us in increasing our Ibadah (Worship) in the Blessed month of Ramadan.
We begin 20 Rakats of TARAWIH after Isha. The Iqaamah for Isha will be at 9:10pm. The Tarawih we be led by a HAFIZ
ALSO, We will be serving a special IFTAR meal, on each Friday, after Maagrib.

Effective Immediately Jummah Salaat at Masjid Nur will be conducted as follows:
The Bayaan will begin promptly at 1:45 pm.
The Arabic Khutbah will begin promptly at 2 pm.
The Iqaamah for Jummah Salaat will begin promptly at 2:15 pm.

From the Board of Directors
It has been brought to the Board’s attention that, there is a Question about who should be the Imam of the Five Fard Salaats at Masjid Nur, and there is a Question who is authorized to call for a Shurah or preside as Amir of Shurahs at Masjid Nur.
The answer is that no one individual, except Shaikh Salah, currently has the right or authority to act as Imam at Masjid Nur. And no one individual is authorized to call for or act as Amir of any Shurah to decide about any matter concerning what occurs on the premises of Masjid Nur. Until an Imam or Amir is appointed or elected by the members of Masjid Nur, the Board of Director has unanimously decided the following:
1) Whenever a member of the Board of Directors is present when the Iqaamah is call for Salaat, only that Board member is entitled, to act as Imam for that Salaat, or appoint who acts as Imam of that Salaat.
2) If no Board member is present, the person entitled to act as Imam of that Salaat will be determined by the Shariah, for example: Abu Mas’ud al Ansari reported, that The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to us, “The one who is the most versed in Allah's book and is distinguished among them in recitation should act as Imam for the people, and if they are equally versed in reciting it, then the one who the most knowledge regarding the Sunnah, and if they are equal regarding the Sunnah, the earliest one to emigrate, if they emigrated at the same time, then the oldest one in age. No man must lead another in prayer in the latter;s house or where the latter has authority, or sit in his place of honor, except that he gives you permission, or with his permission.” (Sahih Muslim).
3) Only members of the Board of Directors are authorized to call for or act as Amir of any Shurah to decide about any matter concerning what occurs on the premises of Masjid Nur.
